Issues on Working Conditions in the Automobile Industry

Working in an automobile industry requires longer hours compared to those with other forms of businesses and services. This is because for them, customer satisfaction is their main concern. Since many prospective buyers are free only during weekends as they have their own work too many dealers provide evening and weekend service. A showroom is where most automobile salespersons and office workers spend their time. The nature of this work for automobile salespersons is relatively stressful as they have to meet sales quotas from repossessed cars for sale, brand new cars and leased cars to have extra earnings. Pressures given to them by their superiors add also to their worries. As this work is really demanding, many workers transfer from automotive sales to other forms of occupations. Although service technicians and automotive body repairers work indoors in well conducive work area with proper ventilation and lighting, however, there are those who work in noisy shops with dirt and grease.
